Dr.
Jeff Kaplan's telephone coaching for parents of teenagers
What
is Coaching?
Most of us are familiar with the concept
of a coach in sports: a coach is the person who observes, supports and nurtures
the talents of the players. Good coaches inspire players to surpass their own
expectations of themselves and their talents.
Professional life coaching is very similar. As life coaches, we help you,
the client, set clearer, better goals and then assist you in reaching those
goals. How? In my own practice, I utilize a number of coaching
techniques . I act as a mirror for you--listening, supporting and
reflecting back your thoughts. I provide tools, structure and ideas
to help you hone the skills you need to fulfill your goals, whatever they might
be. I bring all the knowledge and insight I have gained after almost 20
years counseling parents and teens to our consultations. And all of this
comes to you at a fraction of the cost of standard therapy sessions and from the
convenience of your own home.
Individual Coaching
As my individual coaching client, you will
work directly with me so that I can provide you with the highest degree of
customization in your program. During our first call, you and I will discuss the
process of coaching, set goals, and design an individualized plan to help
achieve these goals. Throughout our coaching relationship, you will explore many
different avenues to personal growth and professional development. Some
popular goals among my current clients are to:
-
become a more effective parent
-
reduce stress
-
work more efficiently, both at home and
at the office
-
improve communication with family
members and at work
-
bring greater balance to their lives
-
bring greater joy into their lives
-
overcome lifelong habits that sabotage
success
Small
Group Coaching
I can also arrange to coach small groups
of clients, typically 3-5 participants, who have a common goal or shared
interest. Examples of common goals are:
Using this format, my job is to facilitate
discussion around personal goals and common issues. As the coach, I will teach
the participants to use specific tools to improve their lives. AS in group
therapy, participants form a supportive structure to share ideas, resources, and
knowledge. The small group format is an extremely powerful way to improve your
life. If you have interest in participating in a small group or you have a small
group already assembled, contact

Coaching Costs
Individuals can expect to pay approximately $300 a
month for four one-on-one sessions with me. Group rates will depend on the
number of participants in each group.
